The association Konferenzdolmetschen – Vergangenheit, Gegenwart, Zukunft e.V. was founded by members of the German Region of AIIC (Association Internationale des Interprètes de Conférence/International Association of Conference Interpreters). The purpose is to provide a stable legal framework for a number of ventures aimed at spreading knowledge about conference interpreting as a profession and enhancing its visibility and reputation.
The current project was born in 2013 and has grown steadily ever since. The time had come to create a clear framework for continuing this work: researching and exhibiting the lives of simultaneous interpreters at the Nuremberg Trials, their working conditions and the development of our profession.
As the Satzung
declares this non-profit association is founded on the same ethical principles as
AIIC and it will pursue these in all its activities. Applications to join are welcome, in particular from
professional conference interpreters with an academic qualification and students currently working towards this qualification. We are looking forward to a message from you.
